This is the most scenic and  popular three days trek that can be done form Pokhara. The mountain views is superbly beautiful, the trail is relatively easy and the countryside is very beautiful allowing you chances to experience the peaceful life in Nepali villages.  All of these makes this trek an ideal choice for everyone looking for  short trek in the Annapurna foot hills, from the family groups with kids to the ones who look for a short trekking experience in Nepal.

The trek starts after one hour of drive from Pokhara and ascends through the valley of Modi Khola river after crossing the suspension bridge at Birethanti.  We then climb  past farm terraces , forests and beautiful hill villages and at the end of the day reach the ethnic Gurung village  of Ghandru .

Ghandruk Village TrekGhandruk offers very close view of the Annaurnas and the view during sunset and sunrise is fantastic. The village still preserves the traditional houses with stone roofs and the local village museum is worth exploring. Next day we walk through a lovely trail via the village of Landrung , walk past several view points like Deurali and Tolka and finally reach to Pothana.  The lodges in Pothan are in thick forest and the Himalayan view from there is really great . On the third day we walk past the view points at Australian camp and Dhampus to enjoying more views and more villages.  We emerge to the road head at Phedi or Kande , where we catch our vehicle for Pokhara .

The trek is easy  ( except for part of the trail which involves ascending or descending several stone steps ) and can be done all through the year even in summer. Average walking is 4 to 6 hours, the highest point is only 2000 m and there is no risk of altitude sickness.

Even those travelling with children  or the elderly trekkers can enjoy this trip. You sleep and eat at mountain lodges called "tea houses" and your luggage is carried by a porter.
